WHAT WE BELIEVE AT OGBC

We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ and the Trinity of the Godhead, the verbal inspiration of the Word of God, the redemption by the Blood of Jesus Christ, by grace, not of works, and the everlasting life and security of the believer.  We believe in the imminent rapture of the church, the depravity of man, and the everlasting punishment of the rejecters of Christ and that the church is the center of witness through which the Gospel is propagated to other men. ("Roman's Road" in the Bible)

1. The verbal inspiration of the Word of God, the Bible.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: - 2 Timothy 3:16

2. The deity of Jesus Christ, and the trinity of the Godhead.
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; - Titus 2:13

But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. - 2 Corinthians 13:14

3. The total depravity of man, and the everlasting punishment of the rejecters of Christ.
Romans Chapter 3

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not on the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. - John 3:36

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. - Rev. 20:15

4. Redemption by the blood of Christ, by grace, not of works.
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; - Titus 3:5

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9

5. The everlasting life and security of the believer.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:16

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. - John 5:24

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. - John 10:28

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. - 1 John 5:11-12

6. The personality and punishment of Satan.
Job Chapter 1 and Revelation Chapter 20

7. The imminent rapture of the church, followed by the great tribulation and millennial reign of Christ on the earth.
For the Lord himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. - 1 Thes. 4:16-17

8. The church as a center of witness through which the Gospel may be preserved and propagated to other men.
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in Heaven and in earth. [19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. - Matthew 28:18-20

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. - Acts 1:8

OGBC exists to connect people to Jesus Christ by:

• Loving God through worship.

• Loving each other through fellowship.

• Loving the Word of God through discipleship.

• Loving those in need through ministry.

• Loving the world through evangelism and missions.

OGBC will:

• Exalt the Savior (John 12:32)

• Equip the Saints (Eph 4:11-12)

• Evangelize the Lost (Acts 1:8)

1. The Scriptures are the Word of God and are an infallible and essential guide for both faith and Godly living.
2. Jesus Christ is the sinless Son of God, and only Savior of all mankind.  By God's grace alone and through repentance and faith alone any person may become a child of God.
3. Holy living is commanded by God and enabled by the Holy Spirit.
4. The Glory of God throughout the whole earth is God's desire and is to be implemented by the obedience of His people through His churches.
5. Christ is coming again, and His coming is a present motivation and expectation in His people that will lead to the final judgment and eternal destiny for every person.
